In the 1930's a Renaissance of art was taking place in central Mexico. Jewelry artist took advantage of the abundant supplies of silver in the region to create designs that celebrated both traditional bird and flower motifs, and Pre-Colombian geometric forms and shapes. This jewelry has become highly coveted and collectible.
This beautiful sterling silver Mexican necklace features intricate little flowers set with turquoise stones on the chain and two large birds between three dimensional flowers. Two eardrop silver beads and filigree flower dangle from the bottom.
